Women-only travelers will delight in the fiestas and siestas of Spain and it all begins in the hub of Spain’s capital, Madrid -- an upbeat and vibrant city, filled with great history, architecture, museums, tapas, flamenco, wonderful neighborhoods and warm, friendly Madrilenos. We will spend an amazing time in one of Europe’s liveliest cities, with the excitement of a grand city but with the intimacy of many fabulous barrios. We will stroll through the neighborhoods experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of everything you’ve dreamed about being Spain. On this women-only tour, we will be surrounded by history, architecture and gastronomic delights in Madrid, Segovia and Toledo.
During the four full days of exploring Madrid, we will immerse ourselves in the experiences of the Spanish culture with guided walking tours, museum visits, paella cooking classes, flamenco lessons, and tapas tastings. You will learn to make authentic Sangria and you will experience a foot stomping, flashy, first rate Flamenco performance. Colorful and vibrant Madrid, tasca to tasca, and we will nosh as we go, experiencing the tastiest of Spanish treats including the infamous Churros con Chocolate. The possibilities are endless. We will also immerse ourselves in the beautiful villages of Segovia and Toledo. As Ernest Hemingway said, "Nobody goes to be in Madrid until they have killed the night."

Day 1 - Welcome to magical Madrid!
You will be met at the airport by a driver who will bring you into the fantastic hub of Puerto del Sol and the Opera District. We will stay in an intimate 4/5 star boutique hotel located centrally to the best areas of Madrid for sightseeing. After check in, you can relax or continue exploring until we meet up for a Sangria welcome reception. The evening festivities will include an authentic gourmet tapas tour…a culinary and cultural introduction to both Madrid and Spain.

Day 2 - Hola Madrid!
Put on your walking shoes! This morning we will begin the day with a customized walking and gourmet shop tour of Madrid, having a private guide introduce us to the best parts of Madrid and the favorite hot spots of Madrilenos. We will stroll the cobblestone streets of La Latina, taking in the immense beauty of the architecture, all the while learning some fascinating history and having fun with new friends amongst great, upscale tapas and wine bars. Madrid does not sleep, and before we do, we will end the evening with the foot stomping of Flamenco. Be inspired to put on your own dancing shoes later in the journey!

Day 3 - Dancing on Cobblestones
After breakfast, we will have a private flamenco dance lesson in the same famous flamenco academy where many other international flamenco stars learned to dance. This will not be a "fast and furious" trek through a city to only move on to the next. We are going to dance through it! Savor, enjoy,relax...and dance! This is a fun experience with a lot of joyful laughter and sharing with other women who like to have fun.
Later, we will visit Palacio Real, the official residence of the King of Spain, Felipe VI, for a breathtaking and ostentatious display of wealth. You will have an opportunity to stroll through the royal jardins and take in some fantastic views of this beautiful city. We will later tour and dine at the fabulous, historic Botin Restaurant and reminisce about the finds of the day.

Day 4 - Vino, Tapas, Vino
After breakfast, we will spend the day doing a wine and tapas tour by heading to the hills to learn about Spanish wines and wine-making. We will visit a beautiful bodega, exploring cellars and sampling the best of their produce. This area of Spain has supplied the capital of Spain with stellar wines for centuries.
A private winemaker will share his family secrets and give us a warm welcome to his fabulous wine-making estate. Lunch will be served on the estate.

Day 5 - You are not Dreaming!
After breakfast, we're visiting the Monastery of the Barefoot Nuns, the lavish 16th-century home of King Charles I, which also houses an extraordinary collection of art. After, we will have lunch in the infamous Plaza Mayor. Madrid is not complete without hanging out in Plaza Mayor, a huge cobblestone square completed in 1619 in the Castillian-Baroque style. This square has seen its share of bullfights, carnivals and riots, and it is filled with many tavernas, tapas bars and mesones. We will have fun eating, drinking and people watching. The afternoon is yours to explore the fantastic and beautiful museums of Madrid. Recommend seeing the Prado Museum, the Thyssen or the Reina Sofia. You can also wander through the cobblestone streets and visit the beautiful Retiro Gardens. The choice is yours!

Day 6 - Dreams Happen
After breakfast, we'll take a break from the big city and visit a beautiful town about 50 miles northwest of Madrid, Segovia. This is a beautiful little village town that boasts an incredible Roman aqueduct, a grand cathedral and a historic castle.
This will be a day trip from Madrid, to save us from packing, unpacking and repacking. We will travel by train to arrive in Segovia, late morning and be met by a private guide to walk the winding and narrow cobblestone paths through this quaint historic city.
The enchanting village of Segovia is filled with historic treasures, beautiful churches, fun shopping and great cafes. If the weather permits, we will feast on an afternoon picnic near the Alcazar de Segovia and discuss whether or not the castle was really the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Cinderella’s castle. The musings, thoughts and the conversations we can have as we visit this castle, the former home of Queen Isabella of Castille and Ferdinand II of Aragon, should inspire us all! After lunch and more touring the best of Segovia, we will relax, explore more or sit and people watch from a street cafe before we make our way back to Madrid.

Day 7 - Serendipity
After breakfast at our hotel, the day is yours to seize! What can be more wonderful than a serendipitous day? No plans, only suggestions and shared with a group of new friends who can make it an adventure! As women, we live our lives taking care of everyone else. So, why not make this a day of where you take care of you! Take care of you by visiting that museum where there just wasn’t enough time but that inspired you. Get your nails done in a fabulous city or plan to return to your home with a fabulous new European hairstyle! Go shopping if that is your therapy! Madrid is a mecca for great shopping! And if you’ve been intrigued by an Arab bath ritual, there is a wonderful temple just for relaxing, great pampering and recovery for you, inside and out. A renewal of spirit, inspiration and dreams. Day 8 - Holy Toledo!
Your dream vacation in Madrid and beyond is winding down. After breakfast, we will day-trip again today, but for only half a day, to Spain’s former capital, Toledo. Toledo has 2,500 years of intriguing history: Roman, Jewish, Moorish, Christian and Visigothic. Rich history with an artistic highlight in a great city to end your dream vacation.
And because a lot of effort is made to create your authentic dream vacation, today we travel by train to the spiritual center of Toledo, home of the famous El Greco. We will spend half a day with a private guide touring this medieval city before returning to Madrid for your last chance to shop, enjoy cava on a roof top terrace, listen to captivating music, or practice your newfound Flamenco dance skills!

Day 9 - Shop & Explore
After breakfast, you will have a free morning to finish any souvenir shopping, museum visits or additional tours. We will celebrate new friends, share laughs about the week and begin to say our goodbyes with an amazing farewell Zarzuela dinner.
Yes, we have to say goodbye, but goodbye to a wonderful dream vacation, shared with new friends, ending with an inspiration to plan a next Her (Next!) Dream Vacation!

Day 10 - Adios Madrid
This is, sadly, your departure day. You will cherish the memories and new friends that you gather along the way, and it's a timeless experience. You're on your own for transfer from the hotel to airport, and we wish you a wonderful trip.
