Day 1 - Benvenuto! Bari: A Living Tapestry of History
Welcome to Bari! Bari is often skipped — which is a mistake. The old town feels alive rather than curated: laundry lines flutter overhead, grandmothers roll orecchiette outside their doors, and the Adriatic glows just beyond the stone walls. It’s an authentic, slightly gritty, deeply charming introduction to Puglia. Spend the afternoon getting pleasantly lost in Bari Vecchia, then stroll the lungomare at sunset before we meet as a group for introductions and a welcome dinner! Yes, there is great wine in Southern Italy!

Day 2 - Bari: Let's explore!

Bari reveals itself not through monuments alone, but through rhythm and ritual. We will meet our guide for a walking food & history tour through Bari Vecchia, where sunlight spills across limestone streets worn smooth by centuries of passage. The scent of baking focaccia drifts from hidden ovens, while locals exchange greetings from doorways framed by trailing vines. Grandmothers sit outdoors shaping orecchiette with gestures learned long ago, their movements as natural as breath. Sacred and everyday life intertwine here — Romanesque churches, medieval fortifications, and the Adriatic shimmering just beyond the walls.

Day 3 - Polignano a Mare: Cliffs & Coastal Poetry

Today we will venture to Polignano with a private guide. This beautiful piece of heaven feels like a dream sculpted from stone and sea. Whitewashed balconies cling to dramatic limestone cliffs plunging into crystalline water. Waves echo through sea caves below, while above, narrow lanes open suddenly to breathtaking Adriatic panoramas. The town invites a slower tempo — lingering lunches, leisurely swims, and the simple pleasure of watching light shift across the horizon. There will be an optional boat tour of coastal caves and some leisure time for swimming or people watching from café terraces before we return to Bari for the evening.
*Breakfast
Day 4 - Valle d’Itria Masseria

After an early breakfast, we will begin our journey to Valle d’Itria Masseria. The Valle d’Itria unfolds in gentle waves of vineyards, olive groves, and stone walls. Alberobello’s trulli rise like something imagined — conical rooftops and chalk-white facades glowing beneath the southern sun. Nearby Locorotondo offers a quieter elegance: circular streets, flowering balconies, and sweeping countryside views. Together they capture Puglia’s pastoral magic.
After check in, the afternoon and evening are yours to explore at your leisure—wander the cobbled streets, visit local shops, take in the Trulli views, or simply unwind.
*Breakfast, Light-fare lunch/snacks/wine tasting
Day 5 - Ostuni: The White City & Olive Oil Traditions

Ostuni rises from the landscape like a vision in white stone — a dazzling cascade of sunlit houses stacked gracefully along the hillside. Known as La Città Bianca, the town glows with reflected light, its labyrinth of staircases, arches, and winding alleys revealing hidden courtyards, artisan boutiques, and sweeping Adriatic views. Every turn feels cinematic, every terrace touched by sea breeze.
Your morning unfolds with a guided walking tour through Ostuni’s historic center, where centuries of history whisper through Gothic façades, baroque balconies, and the magnificent cathedral crowning the summit. As you wander, the town slowly reveals its layers — medieval, elegant, timeless.
Leaving the whitewashed streets behind, the journey continues into Puglia’s ancient countryside. Endless olive groves stretch across red earth, their gnarled trunks shaped by hundreds of years of sun and wind. At a traditional olive oil estate, you’ll discover one of the region’s most treasured rituals. Learn how liquid gold is crafted, then savor a tasting that transforms something familiar into something extraordinary.
The day lingers beautifully over a long countryside lunch — a slow celebration of Puglian flavors: just-pressed oil, local wines, garden vegetables, handmade pasta. Here, time softens. Conversation flows. The landscape invites stillness.
By evening, return to your masseria, sun-kissed and unhurried, carrying the quiet magic of Ostuni’s light, history, and land.

Day 6 - Manduria & Lecce: Into the Kingdom of Primitivo

Traveling south today, the scenery begins to shift — rolling hills soften into wide, sun-drenched plains where vineyards stretch endlessly toward the horizon. This is Manduria, the revered heartland of Primitivo, where the land itself seems steeped in warmth and intensity. Here, amid ancient vines and red earth, you’ll pause for a private winery visit and guided tasting, discovering the depth and character of these bold, velvety, sun-rich wines. Each glass tells a story of southern light, sea breezes, and generations of craftsmanship.
From vineyard tranquility, your journey continues with a scenic transfer to Lecce, a city that reveals itself like a baroque masterpiece carved from golden stone. As afternoon light washes across its ornate façades, Lecce glows with theatrical elegance — elaborate churches, graceful piazzas, and streets that feel suspended between grandeur and ease. By evening, the city’s rhythm invites you to join an expertly guided passeggiata, a gentle walk through its luminous historic center where history, artistry, and daily life intertwine.
As evening settles over Lecce, the golden stone of the city deepens into warm amber hues, and the atmosphere shifts into something quietly enchanting. After your leisurely passeggiata through baroque streets and a refined aperitivo in the breathtaking Piazza del Duomo, the experience becomes more intimate, more immersive.

Day 7 - Salento Coast: Turquoise Indulgence

Salento’s coastline shimmers like a living jewel — water melting from deep sapphire into luminous turquoise, limestone cliffs sculpted by wind and centuries, and secluded coves that invite unhurried, sun-drenched swims. Yet today is not about seeing more. It is about feeling more. This is your exhale.
A day designed entirely around pleasure and restoration, where you choose your own rhythm. Perhaps you surrender to the sea — a languid morning at a beautiful beach club, the gentle soundtrack of waves, the warmth of the Mediterranean sun, and a leisurely seaside lunch accompanied by chilled rosé. Or perhaps you retreat inward, indulging in your own private spa escape — massages, thermal waters, and quiet moments of stillness that melt time itself.
Whether wrapped in sea breeze or serenity, the day unfolds softly, without urgency or expectation. This is Puglia at its most indulgent — sensuous, slow, and deeply restorative.
Tonight, you step beyond simply tasting Puglia — you learn to create it. In a beautifully restored palazzo or charming local kitchen, a private cooking class unfolds like a ritual of southern hospitality. Guided by a local chef, you’ll discover the secrets of regional cuisine: the gentle shaping of orecchiette, the balance of flavors in traditional sauces, the artistry behind dishes passed down through generations. Laughter, stories, and the aroma of fresh ingredients fill the space as cooking transforms into connection.
At the table, your creations become dinner — paired with carefully selected local wines, of course. What began as a lesson becomes a celebration, a long and relaxed evening where Lecce’s culinary soul reveals itself in the most memorable way.

Day 8 - Matera: Into the Stone City

As you journey toward Matera, the landscape subtly shifts, preparing you for something extraordinary. Then suddenly, it appears — a breathtaking vision of limestone dwellings cascading into a dramatic ravine. Matera is not simply visited; it is entered, felt, absorbed. The modern world recedes as you step into the Sassi, where centuries of history live within carved stone walls, winding passageways, and sunlit terraces.
With your private guide, the afternoon unfolds in gentle discovery. You’ll wander through ancient districts where cave homes, rupestrian churches, and hidden piazzas reveal stories etched across millennia. Each turn offers a moment of awe — sweeping viewpoints, quiet corners, layers of civilization shaped by resilience and reinvention.
As dusk approaches, Matera transforms into pure poetry. Golden light washes across the stone, then slowly fades into a shimmering constellation of evening lights. The illuminated Sassi glow with cinematic beauty.
Your cave hotel awaits — a sanctuary of stillness where ancient architecture meets understated luxury. Vaulted stone ceilings, soft textures, candlelit ambiance. Dinner this evening is an experience of its own: refined Lucanian cuisine, exceptional wines, and the quiet magic of Matera at night.
*Breakfast, Dinner
Day 9 - Matera: Immersion & Indulgence

Morning in Matera arrives softly. Sunlight spills across pale stone, silence lingers in the air, and the city feels suspended in time. Enjoy a slow breakfast within the serene embrace of your cave hotel before the day unfolds at your chosen rhythm.
For those drawn to deeper exploration, your private guide leads you beyond the iconic vistas into Matera’s hidden layers — lesser-known districts, ancient frescoed chapels, artisan workshops, and stories that transform stone into living memory. Matera rewards curiosity with moments of quiet wonder.
Or perhaps today is about restoration. Retreat into a spa experience uniquely Materan — wellness rituals set within tranquil stone chambers, where stillness, warmth, and ancient surroundings create profound relaxation.
As your final evening approaches, gather for a sunset aperitivo overlooking the ravine. The Sassi glow once more, luminous and unforgettable. A farewell dinner follows — a celebration of the journey, the flavors, the laughter, and the memories now forever intertwined with this extraordinary place. Matera offers not an ending, but a lasting imprint of your tour of Puglia.
